Gabrielle Jakob is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a clinician at Brooklyn Center for Mindfulness and Psychotherapy. Gabrielle has extensive psychotherapy experience working with children, adults and families. Gabrielle specializes working with substance use, perinatal mental health, anxiety, children and teens, and life transitions.
Gabrielle’s training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. She received intensive training through Albert Ellis Institute and Sweet Institute. She is also trained in play therapy.
In her career as a mental health counselor, Gabrielle has worked in various settings: one setting includes an outpatient substance abuse clinic where she provided mental health services to adults with addiction. Also, Gabrielle has worked in several schools where she conducted play therapy with children experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges.
As a mother of three, Gabrielle understands the motherhood and parenthood challenges from beginning and onward. She is specifically interested in applying her clinical tools in supporting mothers and parents.
