I have over 30 years of experience as a clinician in mental health servicing people of all illnesses, ethnicities, and ages. I was trained at New York University as an art therapist and hold an LCAT license from New York State. I have an additional three years of training in psychotherapy from NYSPP
As an art therapist and psychotherapist I bring n eclectic mix of treatment modalities including Mindfulness, , Positive Psychology Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory, Informed Trauma Focus and more. I learned to integrate these various theories while working in city hospitals, in in-patient psychiatric units, and in private and group practices.
The treatment involves the growing trust between myself and the client, and the unfolding understanding we come to realize within the therapeutic relationship. This understanding allows for healing and growth to occur, and for a reduction of depression and anxiety. The use of art materials as therapy can also help in expressing what one cannot say.
